My First Visitors - Aunt Debbie Mendoza...she was there when I was born, and cut my umbilical cord. Uncle David and Aunt Janice were next, they came to visit us in the hospital. Grandma & Grandpa came a little later that day after Daddy had a chance to get something to eat and rest a little bit.
Aunt Debbie flew in from Iowa and Grandma & Grandpa flew down from New York to visit me.

Daddy was the first one to hold me, he helped Mommy alot during my birth.

Aunt Debbie took my first pictures when I was just a few minutes old.

I'm a "snacker". I nurse a few minutes, sleep a few minutes, eat some more, I'm the boss and they may as well know that now. Mommy counts to 10 when I try to go to sleep, and when she gets to 10 she thumps my foot or something equally nasty to wake me up. I wait until 8 or 9 then I smile and start eating again. My first smile was possibly the 8th or 9th, definately by the 10th (of December).

We have 2 dogs and a cat. I love them all, but Teddy and Mittens run away from me. Bear is more tolerant of me even though I am not gentle with him at all.

I have very strong legs and if I don't want them bent, good luck making me.

14 Dec 96 - My First Babysitter. Aunt Debbie made Mommy & Daddy go out alone. They went and had dinner at Lucky Key. At least Mommy didn't call home while they were gone!

30 Dec 96 - Held my head up some while shopping with mom at the mall

5 Jan 97 - Held my head up for a long time while laying on Daddy's chest

21 Jan 97 - Weight-9 Pounds 9 Ounces

10 Feb 97 - Weight-10 Pounds 1 1/2 Ounces Height- 22 1/2 inches

21 March 97 - I said "A-DA-D" (pronounced A Daddy!)

I like to stand all the time, but I don't have any balance.

09 May 97 - I weigh 11 pounds 4 ounces...Dr. Brock wants me to put on some weight or else!

10 May 97 - Tried Rice Cereal today. I didn't really know what to do with it.

I sit up by myself when I want to.

02 June 97 - I gained 10 ounces. Dr. Brock says I am doing better, but I still need to pick up more somewhere. 11 pounds 14 ounces and 26 inches long.

04 June 97 - More Rice cereal and this time I know what to do with it. I ate 3 bowls!

05 June 97 Mommy videotaped me crawling (commando style) 2/3 of the way across my bedroom.

09 June 97 - I gained 13 ounces!!! I now weigh 12 pounds 11 ounces! Boy, will Dr. Brock be surprised. Daddy caught me crawling on all 4's.

13 June 97 - Mommy and Daddy took me in for an "upper GI". I don't know what that means but I didn't like it one little bit. They said the Dr. said there wasn't any reflux at all.

15 June 97 - Mommy felt my 2 front teeth. Happy Father's Day & Birthday Daddy! Daddy had to work and I sure did miss him. Mommy & I got him a Carvel's Ice Cream Cake. Chocolate & Vanilla, but I didn't get any -- just wait until next year.

16 June 97 - I ate Oatmeal today. I loved it!

23 June 97 Carrots today...I made some nasty faces to let Mom & Dad know I didn't really care for carrots at first. They were ok the next day though.

25 June 97 - Pulled myself up to a standing position while in my playpen.

30 June 97 - Dr. Brock says I am doing GREAT. 13 Pounds 9 Ounces ---- 26 3/4 Inches ... Squash is ok...not as bad as carrots were. I just need a little time to get used to new foods.

01 July 97 - My first Boo-boo! I was standing in my playpen and I fell down. I cut my eyelid real close to my lashes. Mommy bought some more film to take pictures of the black eye I am almost sure to get. Nurse Denise (a very sweet person) said I will be just fine.

11 July 97 - I climbed up 2 steps!!! Mommy was in the kitchen and I had to get up there. I stumbled a little bit getting up the third step so Daddy picked me up and took me the rest of the way. That was hard work.

31 July 97 - My first LONG road trip! We went to Florida to see Uncle Steve, Aunt Deb, & cousins Joe, Jessica, & Jacqueline. It was an 8 hour trip, all in all I did GREAT!

01 August 97 - My cousins have a lot of stairs to climb and I started at the bottom and went all the way to the top with Daddy right behind me. Mommy cried. I also got my first baby pretzel, I liked it alot.

02 August 97 - Apple Juice - another first. I can take it once in a while.

03 August 97 - We went to the Kennedy Space Center today. It was just getting ready to storm though so we didn't get to do a whole lot.

16 August 97 - A Double-decker day--We played Daddy-fetch today instead of Mommy-fetch (not for very long though). Then Mommy & Daddy turned my car seat around to face FRONT! I can see where we're going now.

27 September 97 - When I woke up this morning, I found my house was full of visiting family! Uncle Steve, Aunt Deb, & Cousins Joe, Jessica & Jacquie came to see me. How fun! Aunt Debbie noticed that my 2 upper front teeth were coming in.

29 September 97 - Hanging around the living room with Dad for a little bit, I decided to walk from the couch to the coffee table 3 steps in front of me. Dad turned around just in time to witness my first steps.

October 97 - My favorite movie is "Down Periscope". I can watch it over and over and over again.

24 November 97 - Mom and I flew in a big airplane! We went to Iowa to see grandma & grandpa, aunts, uncles, & lots of cousins. I was such a big girl. I didn't cry at all. I missed my daddy but it was fun to see everyone.

08 December 97 - My first birthday. I didn't feel real well (I came home from Iowa with a cold I couldn't get rid of) so we didn't really do anything...mommy keeps promising me a party with something gooey to put my face into.

January 98 - I have nipples and a belly button!!!

26 February 98 - Mom went out to the truck to look for my purple bottle (she later found it behind the couch where I had dropped it)and put her keys on the table when she came back in. I took them and tried to unlock the door. I couldn't quite make it so I decided to open the door instead. I tried a few times before Dad came in the room. Mommy told him to watch me. He said just another inch and she will be able to do it at will....HEY! I don't have to wait. I can do it NOW. About 30 seconds after Dad said that I opened the door. I pranced in and out between the hallway and the kitchen to make sure they saw that I did it. Then Dad came and shut the door. Silly Daddy. I opened it again and mommy cried.

4 March 98 - I gave mommy a few days to hope that opening doors was just luck, tonight I showed her that I can do it if I want to.

April 98 - My favorite game is stealing someone's spot when they get up...especially if I'm the reason they got up! When Daddy gets up to go to the bathroom I wait until he is coming back then I run over to his spot and lay there and giggle at him.

15 June 98 - Daddy's birthday! "Happy Birthday Daddy, I LOVE YOU!!!" Mom and Dad bought me a sketch diary. I get to draw in it every day.

June 98 - I like to dunk my food....I'll dunk french fries, crackers, or even bread in apple sauce or milk. I like ketchup too. Just like mommy. Daddy says he was the opposite. When he was a little boy he didn't like his food touching. If it did, he didn't like it.

29 June 98 - Although I didn't know it yet, Mommy thinks I had my last bottle today at lunch time.
----- 6 July 98 I haven't had a bottle so maybe I don't need them anymore. Can I do it?
....13 July 98 - still no bottle. It is safe to say I don't need the bottle anymore.

11 July 98 - Going out to dinner w/ Les & Lori in their Jeep, Mommy & Daddy in the back seat with me, Daddy says "nnnnononono" (no-no-no-no), what a funny word! It's my new favorite word!

18 July 98 - I have a throat infection - no fun at all. But...I got to go SWIMMING in a BIG pool. I just wanted to see their doggie, Rumples. Mommy went over there and put me on the edge of the pool. It took me a little bit, but I decided I liked it. Aidee (sp?) & Mary Lou were fun. They let me dunk them in the water. Mommy took the Cam corder over and recorded a few minutes of it. It was a lot of fun.

28 July 98 - Mommy went into the kitchen telling the dogs "Stay....Stay" , so I decided to sing it for them "stay, stay, stay, stay, stay....the whole time mommy was gone.

29 July 98 - Going upstairs with Mommy, we stopped so I could turn on the light. I did. Mommy didn't say good girl so I pointed to me (patting my stomache) "Good Girl, Good Girl"

November 98 - My new favorite word is "SURE".....I don't always do what I say "SURE" I'll do....but I like to say it anyway.

21 November 98 - Uncle Steve, Jessica and Jacqueline are here. I got to go to the airport with daddy to pick up grandma & grandpa. Uncle Steve and the girls stayed for a couple of days before they went home. I got to see a bottle again. I put it in my mouth whenever I got the chance. We colored some, played with toys, and went out to dinner with grandma & grandpa. We all got snowbabies from grandma & grandpa.

21 November - 27 November 98 - Grandma & Grandpa were here. On thanksgiving we had a nice turkey dinner. Uncle Scott and Uncle Tom came over and had dinner with us. I had daddy's chocolate chip cookies for dessert.

December 98 - My new favorite word is "NO".....I usually do what I'm told to do, even if I say no, but if I don't want something that I am asked (Do you want to color? or Do you want this or that?) I have no problem saying NO.

December 98 - There is something strange and new in my living room this morning. Daddy distracted me and all of a sudden this new strange thing had LIGHTS on it. Wow...colored lights and they go off and on. for the first couple of days I dragged daddy over by the fireplace and made him sit there; then the lights came on like magic! I made mommy do it one day. Around the 4th day or so I turned the lights on all by myself. Mommy missed me doing it the first day, but she saw the second time I did it. I just got on the ledge behind the tree and pushed the button. It was easy. She pointed it out to Daddy and he just stood and watched me with his mouth open. Now turning the tree lights on is my job.

December 98 - I get to help daddy bring in the wood and lay out the fire.

8 December 98 - Daddy came home from work early. After my nap and bath, we had an ice cream cake! mmmmm....yummy! I ended up dropping the biggest piece of my cake and the dogs got it, but I LIKE ice cream cake. I got a travel magna doodle for my birthday. It is sooo cool....I can write whenever I want to.

19 December 98 - Sitting in Tanner's with mommy and daddy, I was drawing lines with crayons, then I decided to count them. 1 2 3 4 5.....Daddy heard me and we counted to 10 together. I can count to 10 when I want to.

20 December 98 - Les & Lori came over for dinner and a movie. We had chicken enchilada's and baked ice cream. We watched Mask of Zoro. I didn't want Les & Lori to go home. I had fun playing with them.

3 December 98 - Happy Birthday Cousin Rick! .....Uncle Steve called, my cousins have chicken pox. OH NO. Jessica got hit real hard with them.

25 December 98 - Christmas morning. I'm very good at unwrapping this year. Mommy and Daddy went through my presents this year and got them ready for me to play with. My second present was a box of 24 crayons. I wanted to play with my crayons so mommy and daddy waited about 15 or 20 minutes for me to draw a little bit with 20 or so of the 24 crayons. I get upset when I can't see what I am drawing so they took out the light colors. After that we continued opening gifts.

26 December 98 - Today is my Great-grandma's birthday (mommy's grandma) Happy birthday great-grandma Dodd!

29 December 98 - Happy Birthday Uncle Dave! ....I got a flordia t-shirt from grandma & grandpa. It is a little big so I'll be able to wear it alot!
